" Vintage Creativity" is a series of workshops taking place throughout the year. It builds on the interest and passion that people of this area share for creating things that reflect a respect for the environment and sustainability with a rural perspective and represents their thoughts about where they live and what is important to them. .
A variety of short workshops will be on offer throughout the year including, but not limited to, mosaics, hebel block carving, welding with found objects, wearable art and creating vintage home and garden pieces. The monthly workshops will be flexible and responsive to what participants would like to explore. If a workshop is very popular it could be repeated or a basic and advanced version could be offered. Local and visiting qualified artists will present the workshops; they may be repeated on week days or weekends.
The workshops will be hosted by Vintner’s Secret Vineyard, 135 North Isis Road, CHILDERS and are designed to, not only provide an opportunity to learn and master artistic skills, but more importantly, to get to know other like-minded people and have lots of fun. The vineyard has a workshop, dedicated art workspace, accommodation and a kitchen. They will also contribute considerable in-kind and financial support to “art from the Heart” Project. Other funding will also be sought.
The organizers are keen to listen to ideas for workshops or learn of excellent teachers that they would like to work with. Costs will be kept to an absolute minimum so that workshops remain very inclusive. The workshops are open to all ages and abilities ranging from beginners to experts.
“Vintage Creativity” seeks to provide opportunities through art to explore and express hopes, dreams and concerns as a way of coming to terms with what life presents us with and be conduit to develop community connectedness and personal growth and resilience. It is an opportunity to learn and share artistic skills and to fulfil a yearning to create.
